So, literally the best thing to come out of my foray into Big Finish so far is the bonus commentary track for An Earthly Child, the episode where Eight reunites with Susan and meets her son, Alex. So Paul McGann is commentating on the episode, and at this point he's been playing the Doctor on the regular for years and he's like 'Why did I never hear the Doctor has a family before this? Is there a reason nobody told me? Do we not talk about it? Is it because nobody thinks he has sex?'

Oh, my sweet summer child. lmfao

I've been really pleasantly surprised and pleased. And I'm just not an auditory person, so I put off trying it for the longest time. But they really do do an excellent job. It's like having more Doctor Who to consume, but without having to attempt watching old television! Because old television is bad, no matter how much Classic Who fans try to pretend it isn't. That's just facts.

Also, if there had to be a Doctor confined almost solely to audio, the universe sure did pick the right one. *fans self*

Lol. In truth I've been listening in public from the get-go and it's fine. But his voice is like Matt Smith's acting: you just don't get used to it. It's continually arresting. You just sit there, feeling flushed, thinking 'goodness, that's rather nice, isn't it?' for episode after episode after episode.
