Agents of *curses and tears hair*
As the official last person on earth watching Agents of SHIELD, I feel it is my duty to let you know that season five continues to be EPIC.
EPIC.
I also need to repeat this regularly to myself because otherwise I don't actually believe it.

you are not alone
Then I finished it and was like, I think they saved the world by sacrificing Fitz-Simmons, but they've subverted my expectations over and over this season so I'll keep hoping.
Re: you are not alone
I had to pause this week's episode for a few hours when the black jacket came out. Too many feels.
I am loving that storyline. Somehow 'The Doctor' is the evil scientist storyline I never knew I always wanted? And I'm not entirely sure why it's working so well for me, but it is, it is.
I recently rewatched F.Z.Z.T. from season one and it was so crazy to realize that was the moment we were doomed. As soon as the writers realized exactly how devastating Fitzsimmons could be, we were consigned to a world of pain with them for the rest of forever.

Oh, I think they'll find a way through it, though I have been conditioned by so much Doctor Who to buy Deke's talk with Simmons hook, line, and sinker. I'm looking forward to the journey back being long and arduous, though.
Re: you are not alone
I have a limited tolerance for "Buffy sad, show good". If this show wraps without a HEA for Fitz-Simmons it's going to taint my memories of the great parts. or maybe I'll come up with my headcanon stopping point like I did for BSG. (It was a downer that the Cylons won. Sometimes I like to imagine that Adama figures out how to rescue the colonists, but the tragic end was fitting.)

I totally know what you're talking about, though. This has been a very 'uh, life happened' show for me for, like, three years? And then season three was so lackluster I didn't watch season four for nearly a full year. When I finally got around to it, though, I was just so blown away, and season five is just as good.
I've never been much for superheroes, though? The harder sci-fi stuff they're doing in these seasons is much more my thing, and boy do they know how to use it to inflict maximum emotional damage. I was just telling Elisi, I can suddenly tell that these are the same people who wrote Dollhouse and I am all about it.

One of these days, I might want to take another look at Dollhouse. I tried for a few episodes, especially since one of my BSG faves, Tamoh Penikett, was in it, but ... maybe the writing hadn't gelled at that point?

Is there a reason you skipped four? I put off watching it forever because I found season three so lacking, but when I finally got around to it I loved it desperately. It is dark, dark and fucked-up, though, so if you heard specific things that put you off it, I could understand.

I think the biggest part of this is that it didn't pass the "MS Flaring Test." I've been pretty unwell and had to get picky about what I watched and did.
