Sorry, no new writing today, just me working through some plot issues and character motivations. I'm not even sure to what extent any of this will show up explicitly in the finished product, but there were things that were bugging me and I think I've managed to settle them. I don't expect anyone to read this, really, but it helped to bash it out in words and I like the idea of having a record of how I put a piece of writing together. Of course your thoughts are always welcome.

More bits of my ~~crackfic~~ AU fic in which Amy wakes up after the Big Bang to discover that the Doctor and River are her parents. First part is here, and some other sections here. These parts are all roughly in order, although I think there will be additional material in between. Less domestic cuteness in these sections and more trippy weirdness (can you tell Alice in Wonderland was my favorite book when I was a kid?) As before, any and all questions, comments, critique, and britpick is welcome. Also, I'm trying to decide if I just have no feel for Amy's voice (which is entirely possible; I've never really written her before), or if this story simply doesn't lend itself to hearing her voice, despite its being from her p.o.v. Possibly both. Thoughts?

So, this ~~total crack~~ AU fic that I started (part one here), in which Amy wakes up and discovers Eleven and River are her parents (somehow) . . . I'm thinking it's gonna become something quite big and complicated. Thing is, I love getting feedback and questions as I write (I've already gotten ideas from some of the comments on the first part--thanks, guys!), but I also want to be able to go back, change things and rearrange things as I go along. So I don't think the usual LJ practice of posting consecutive sections until the whole thing is finished is going to work out here. I am going, therefore, to attempt a probably foolish experiment, in which I put up the bits that I've worked on. They may get changed later. They may not end up in this order. I may trash them altogether. We'll see.

If you're willing to put up with that kind of crazy, I'd very much appreciate thoughts, questions, britpicks, etc.

beerbad : River + Eleven + Amy, AU end of S5 - Amy wakes up and it turns out River and the Doctor are her parents... somehow (I CANNOT SHAKE THIS PLOT BUNNY FOR THE LIFE OF ME). OMG, beerbad, I can't either. Awesome, awesome prompt.
--This should, by all rights, be total crackfic, and yet almost nothing you can write for this fandom really feels like crack to me.
--Also: I am an American, and this proved to be a greater difficulty in writing for a domestic setting than it does for your average space adventure. I did my best, but I would be most grateful to anyone who can correct any really egregious Americanisms. Don't talk to me about spelling, however; life is too short. ETA: thanks to
