Well, through LJ/DW I am aware that it is A THING. Am glad it is a good thing. I think they hit a particular YA spot where characters just slightly older than you are the most fascinating thing in the world? And they're pretty wholesome books; it's all about friendships and such. Every book is from the perspective of a different club member and there's so many books, so you could basically live in them.
