Still no luck on pushing the sidebar down (it's kind of driving me nuts). But I've at least found something that looks nicer:

background-position: 50% 7px;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
padding-top: 370px;
}


(Change 370px to suit your image, and the 50% also controls something with positioning that I haven't quite figured out.)
