Yeah. I had seen other people complaining that Amy was getting sidelined, and I brushed it off at first because of the whole sharing the spotlight thing, but really, she just stops getting to do anything. We never know what she's thinking, and we can't see things from her perspective anymore. The perspective of the Doctor watching young River is just...not very compelling to me. Because I was more attached to Amy, but also because young River is so selfish and whiny and unpredictable.
And I think the other thing is that Moffat is trying to create themes or family traits or something and is just making the show feel really redundant. Like, once every Pond family member has "broken time" or some such for their ONE TRUE LOVE, it stops meaning much of anything.
