So, I wanted to learn about making icons, so I made some. Very inefficiently, I suspect, but I think I've caught the bug and have more planned, so expect more.
River-centric because that's what I know and because I find the selection of River icons woefully lacking.

promethia_tenk , no hotlinking, and I've been doing this all day, so please be nice to me *big eyes*

From a purely artistic POV I especially like the one where she's writing in her diary, and the one that's bottom left, with the Doctor in the foreground. Very visually pleasing.
Also the 'light my fire' one if gorgeous, although I want it sharper. (But then I'm very fussy - even though I'd never be able to make anything half as good myself...)
Overall, I am hugely impressed and I dearly hope you keep on, since icons are awesome, and you most definitely have talent!

Thank you--I do to. Interestingly, since I set out to icon the things that other people haven't iconed, I found myself very aware of how she is literally *in the background* the vast majority of the time. There are sort of the big flashy moments when she gets center stage, and naturally these get attention, but really for most of her screen time she is literally behind things, on the periphery, out of focus, etc. There's something nice about the visual significance of that.

Case in point--horrible cap to work with. It took a lot of fiddling to even get it that clear. I sort of assumed that no one would actually use that as an icon, but it was a moment that always caught my attention, and I've never seen anyone really highlight it before. This seemed a good medium for it. There are a few of these that I really wanted to make for my own use (like the laughing one), but I think by and large I'm looking at this more as a mini picspam/art thing-y (technical term).

Mmm, you're right!

I'm not surprised - half the time when I have some brilliant idea I never even get round to asking anyone, since finding a good cap isn't easy. :( But, the idea is still awesome!

I approve of this very much!
