Oh, I've always known how it was gonna end. The ending is what I thought of first--actually it's part of a dream I had--and then the rest of this is just me working out how Barney and Robin might have gotten to the point I imagined. I've also had all the major plot points mapped out since I wrote the first section--otherwise none of this would work. I've got a "real time" timeline with all the events in chronological order and a "story" timeline with all the flashbacks in the order I've written them. It's all a little too complicated for me to have made up as I went along or just kept in my head.
*cough* sorry--self-indulgent rambling about process is over. The point: yes, everything is going to be wrapped up and you may read without fear of being left hanging.
>Lily only figured it all out when she was leaving Barney that voicemail, didn't she?
Yeah, Robin's talk about the hat was all a little too cryptic for Lily. I actually feel pretty bad for her--what a shock.
>I don't even care that this is confusing as all hell because it feels so real. Mind you, a good confusing. Snippets of information at a time is so very HIMYM.
Thank you! Heck, it's confusing for me too (see above about multiple timelines). I'm glad it's still "good confusing" for you--and that it feels real because the atmosphere of this fic is hands down the most important thing about it for me.

Thank you so much for the great review!
