Hhaha. It's calmed down a bit from the initial outpouring of rage and I am seeing some different reactions now, but that first foray onto Tumblr was scarring, yo.
Ooooh yes. Day Four specifically. Fandom IMPLODED! The show never recovered.
Of course it didn't help that 'Miracle Day' was shit, but yeah, the fury was... Incredible. Also RTD's response at the time was 'If you can't handle drama, go watch Supernatural, with the pretty boys' and 'Don't you DARE tell me that I'm homophobic because I killed half your OTP, you are all stupid CHILDREN who know nothing about what gay people have been through!'
As a PR exercise it was awful, but dammit, I still respect the hell out of him for it.
