Sometimes I think about Doctor Who

Randomly woke up at 3am and realized something:



If the Clara in the Library with Ten died to save him, she would have been scooped up by CAL.

Which means there's a very good chance that there's been a Clara hanging out in the Library computer with River all this time.

I can't believe it's taken me five years to think of that.

Also makes NotD and the Library quite the circular tragedy, with River pleading with Clara not to do the thing that is the whole reason she knows her to begin with.

But I realised that if she died (rather than just saving him) she wouldn't have a body to return to - all the others were uploaded whilst still alive.

Yeah, I had a few minutes where I had to sit and think through the mechanics of all of it. Like, why were Anita and the others stuck in the Data core when Lee was saved . . . ? Duh. It's been awhile. But then, does this mean the Doctor never needed to upload River? Would CAL have gotten her anyway? But I guess he couldn't have know that. And it lacks the personal touch.

Now my head hurts.

I presume if it was River's brain powering the download, CAL couldn't simultaneously *upload* her. So no, we're good with the plot.

Actually, I think what finally settled that in my head was the Moff interview where they were telling him he doesn't kill enough companions or some other rubbish and he replied that he's never going to do that because the Doctor is everybody's space dad and you want to feel that you are safe and he will protect you. And I realized naturally the same applies to the Doctor's wife, trained killer or no.

But also because River and Clara were totally besties in a computer : )
