Well, I'm not sure I'd go that far, but I think the "Last of the Time Lords" thing is toast.
There are other things to consider as well: whatever that was that invaded the Doctor's dreams in the prequel, that seems to be pulling the Doctor's strings, it wrote Gallifreyan. You might argue that we just saw Gallifreyan because we were in the Doc's head, but if it's the same thing that was able to control the TARDIS, to blow it up, then I don't think writing Gallifreyan as well is really out there.
