You are my hero--that is exactly the angle to come at it from. The difficulty with Amy's motivations is that she is so stubborn, and it seems like even in the universe where she grew up with her normal parents a lot was still the same--so it really feels like she is bound a determined to live out her life in a particular way. Even in this AU I have her as a kissogram and resisting the Doc's efforts to convince her to volunteer abroad instead. So it's like I'm not really sure to what extent the influence of having the Doctor and River as parents might directly affect *her* motivation to marry sooner versus later. Rory, however, is an entirely different matter. So I wonder what the difference would be between Rory's feelings about Amy when she has her normal parents versus Rory's feelings when she has the Doc and River as parents. Perhaps since the Doctor would be inclined to befriend Rory anyway--as is his wont--Rory would really feel like a part of the family already?
